Cleveland Public Schools Horticulture Program collection 1904-1988

This collection contains the records of the Cleveland Public Schools Horticulture Division collection. This division was responsible for the innovative Cleveland Public Schools Horticulture Program which trained many generations of gardeners in the Cleveland, Ohio area from 1907 until 1978. Curriculum materials used by instructors, clippings and photographs of the school gardens are among the items included in the collection.

Beginning in 1904 and for most of the twentieth century until the 1980s, the innovative Cleveland Public Schools Horticulture Program educated several generations of children from kindergarten through high school age, across many subject areas through gardening lessons.
