Phil Clifford of West Medford, Massachusetts, entered the Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire, in the fall term of 1914 and studied there for at least three years. He became a member of the school's Kappa Delta Pi fraternity. He had one sister, Lizze, and his father, Arthur Clifford, owned A.
