Elizabeth (Dwight) Cabot was born in Boston on February 13, 1830, the daughter of Edmund and Mary H. (Elliot) Dwight. In 1857, she married a distant cousin, James Elliot Cabot; they had seven sons. See folder #9v of this collection for a biography of EDC. In 1888, at the age of 58, EDC met Ellen Chase, a social worker from England.
