George Neil Stewart (University of Edinburgh, D.Sc. 1887; M.B. 1889; M.D. 1891; Cambridge, D.P.H. 1890) taught physiology at Harvard from 1893 to 1894 and at Western Reserve University School of Medicine from 1894 to 1930, with the exception of four years at the University of Chicago. His major contribution was in transmitting modern methods of teaching and research in physiology to American medical education.
