Timothy D. Allman, journalist, was born in 1944. He received a B.A. from Harvard University in 1966 and did graduate study at Oxford in the 1970s. Allman worked as a freelance foreign correspondent in Southeast Asia from 1968 to 1971, where he did investigative and analytical reporting on the Vietnam War and the outbreak of the Cambodian war.
