John Hanly Morgan (1918- ) was born in New Albany, Indiana. He received a BA from Ball State University in 1943, a BD from Harvard Divinity School in 1946, an MA from the University of Michigan in 1955, and a PhD in English literature from the University of Southern Florida. Ordained a minister in 1946 to the Waverly Unitarian Church of Waverly, Massachusetts, Morgan also served parishes in Charlotte, North Carolina; South Bend, Indiana; and Toronto, Canada.
