The Nathan Tanner papers (1895) contain a transcript of a speech given by Nathan Tanner, in 1895. The speech relates the story of Tanner's conversion and baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints (LDS) in New York, at the age of sixteen. He describes the mob persecutions of the Mormons at Kirtland, Ohio, and Far West, Missouri.
