Melvin S. Morris was Professor of Range Management in the School of Forestry at the University of Montana-Missoula. Born July 9, 1907 in Denver, Colorado, he received his B.S. in Forestry in 1930 and M.S. in Botany in 1932 from Colorado State University. Professor. Morris did advanced work in botany at the University of Chicago in 1940-1941. He began teaching and research at the University of Montana in the fall of 1936.
