Leonard Brewer was born February 8, 1907 in Belgrade, Montana. His father, Albert Brewer, was a physician and his mother, Florence Brewer, was a nurse. He spent his early years on an eastern Montana homestead near Edwards, Montana, before the family moved to Baker, Montana, where Brewer attended high school.
