In 1967 the ALC purchased a plot of ground four miles east of Renton. In 1973 Rev. Charles Mays, a native of the Pacific Northwest, came as the first pastor from Fairfax, VA. The congregation was formed as a result of a survey and a prayer task force of lay persons.
