George E. Foreman was born on February 9, 1904. He was known as "Jeff" for his initials G.E.F. His father, Edward Foreman, was one of the first rangers in the country under the Government Land Office and was stationed at the Cinnamon Ranger Station on the Gallatin National Forest in Montana.
