Cora Averill of Townsend, Montana, attended the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana, as an undergraduate from 1904 to 1907. She was a member of Penetralia, Clarkia, and the Oratorical Association. She was one of the first members of Theta Phi, which later joined the national sorority Kappa Alpha Theta.
