A group of Christians living in Soldotna wanted a Lutheran Congregation, and they contacted the North Pacific District of the ALC requesting its establishment. A small grant was made and Pastors Glenn Groth and O. B. Fjelstad of nearby congregations in Anchorage and Seward served the congregation for almost a year.
