Sydney Winfield Angleman was born in 1902 in New Jersey. He graduated from Amherst College, received his M.A. and Ph.D. from Berkeley, and joined the faculty at the University of Utah in 1927. He was involved in a number of committees and organizations. His fellow professors labeled him "the conscience of the University." Dr. Angleman died in May of 1971.
