In 1977 it was determined that the growth of the community of Coeur d’Alene was sufficient to warrant the need for a congregation of the Lutheran Church in America. In October of that year the first service was held in the chapel of Coeur d’Alene Homes (which at one time had been a college of the Augustana Lutheran Church).
