William A. Egan Papers 1940-1984

The William A. Egan include papers from 1940 to 1984. This collection of mostly personal papers is complemented by the official records of Egan's three gubernatorial terms (1959-66, 1970-74) which are in the Alaska State Archives in Juneau. The collection includes press releases, speeches, and official correspondence. The papers also document his five gubernatorial campaigns in 1958, 1962, 1966, and 1974. Several boxes are chronologically arranged newspapers from 1949-1985. Also included are photographs, audio tapes, dictation belts, and a video tape from campaign spots.
