Ellis F. Lawrence (1879-1946) began his career as an architect in Portland, Or. in 1906. He was associated with William G. Holford, as Lawrence & Holford. He was involved iwth the first courses in architecture at the University of Oregon in 1914, and later served as Dean of the School of Architecture when it opened in 1917.
