The Department of Educational Psychology was created in 1949 with the merger of the Department of Social Education and some applied psychology courses from the Department of Psychology. This new department was placed under the administration of the State College of Education. During the period covered by this collection, the department chairs were Reed M. Merrill (1962-1970), Claude W. Grant (1970-1977), Ralph E. (Ted) Packard (1977-1984), Addie Jean Fuhriman (1984-1990), David J. Sperry (1991), and William R. Jenson (1992-2002). This collection includes correspondence, course descriptions, course proposals, course schedules, faculty vitae, grant proposals, memoranda, minutes, newsletters, and reports.
