In the early pioneer days, families of Scandinavian origin living on the Edison flats were served by pastors from Bellingham Lutheran Church from 1891-1894, conducted what is believed to be the first Lutheran service in the community, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Boe on November 1, 1891.
