The roots of Prince of Peace Lutheran began in 1965 with the establishment of a confirmation class in Forks. Sunday School and worship services began on a regular basis on September 18, 1966. Formal organization occurred on May 14, 1967. Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new church were held on Labor Day of 1968.
