University of Utah Extension Division records 1912-1955

The Department of Extension Work was organized in 1910 under the direction of Frederick Reynolds. It became the Extension Division in 1916, with Dr. Reynolds remaining as dean until his death in 1935. He was succeeded by I.O. Horsfall who served as dean until 1951. Harold W. Bentley then became dean and served until 1962. This collection, which encompasses the years 1912 to 1955, reflects a broad range of Extension Division activities. It includes course material, schedules, bulletins, correspondence, publicity and promotion material, contracts, financial reports, and information on lectures, film presentations, and live performances by artists, which were sponsored by the Extension Division.
