In October of 1946, after a survey by the Board of American Missions of the ULCA, Pastor Paul Funk began the establishment of a mission in Seaside. The first service was held in November of 1946 in the Strand Theater, and organization took place on May 11, 1947 with 71 charter members. In September of that year a house and property were purchased, and on June 24, 1956, the new church was dedicated.
