Elon H. Clark was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1909, grew up in Rochester, NY and received degrees from the Rochester Institute of Technology and from the Johns Hopkins School of Medical Art in 1933. Employed at Duke Hospital from 1934 to 1974, he founded what is now the Medical Center's Division of Audiovisual Education, where he specialized in improving cosmetic prostheses, and especially facial restorations.
