Abraham Joshua Heschel (1907-1972) was a Polish-born American rabbi and one of the leading Jewish theologians and philosophers of the 20th century. Collection consists of the papers of noted Jewish philosopher and theologian Abraham Joshua Heschel (1907-1972). The collection documents the span of Heschel's career, from his early studies in Vilna, through his academic life in Germany, exile in London, and long and illustrious career in the United States. Acquired as part of the Archive for Human Rights (Duke University).
