Letter to Alexander Ramsay. March 11, 1884.

At the time of this letter, Mark W. Harrington (1848-1926) was director of the Detroit (Michigan) Observatory where he worked on meteorology and astronomical research. He responded to a request of Alexander Ramsay (1822-1909), an editor, that he was agreeable to an exchange of issues of his own newly founded for meteorological and geographical issues of Ramsay's . Harrington also noted that they shared the same challenge of insufficient funding but hoped that advertisements and subscriptions would keep his new journal afloat.
