John H. Crawford was Commissioner of Labor and Industry when the Kansas Court of Industrial Relations was founded in January 1920 in response to a coal miners' strike of 1919. The Kansas Court of Industrial Relations Act set up a 3 person board to settle labor disputes. The Court was abolished in 1925 after the United States Supreme Court overturned some of its rulings and curtailed its powers. This collection includes a letter, 2 addresses and a plan by the International Harvester Company to assist with industrial relations between management and employees.
