Shelley Miller, a long time Lawrence, Kansas, resident, graduated high school in Costa Rica and then attended the University of Kansas (KU). After recieving her BA in Spanish and Social Welfare, she attended UCLA to earn her Masters of Library Sciences. At her death, she was the head of the Department for Spain, Portugal and Latin America at the KU Libraries. Throughout her life, Shelley participated in social activism on the local and national level. This collection reflects her efforts through newspaper clipping, informational pamphlets, personal correspondence.
