Hester Elizabeth Buell was born February 1, 1900 at Blue Rapids, Kansas to Ernest and Virgie (Foose) Buell. The family lived in Ottawa County, Kansas in Hester's early years and then moved to Glascow, Missouri, where Hester graduated from high school.
