Jan Meyers represented Kansas in the United States House of Representatives and the Kansas Legislature. This collection documents her participation in both legislatures. Meyers was city councilwoman in Overland Park from 1967-1972, served as a senator in the Kansas Legislature from 1972-1984, and was a Republican congresswoman from 1985-1997.

Janice Lenore Meyers (née Crilly; July 20, 1928 – June 21, 2019) was an American politician. A member of the Republican Party, she served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Kansas from 1985 to 1997. Born Janice Lenore Crilly in Lincoln, Nebraska, she was raised in Superior, Nebraska, attending the public schools there.
