Between eleven and seventeen Trustees, including the Chairman of the Board, are selected to serve as the Executive Committee of the Board. The Committee meets regularly and is empowered to act for the full Board in all matters concerning the university except the appointment of a Chancellor, President, Vice President, Provost, or Professor; the establishment of chairs; and the enactment of by laws governing the university.The Records of the Executive Committee included in this series deal primarily with fiscal matters and do not reflect the full range of Committee concerns during the period. Included are lists of subscriptions to the university, bonds issued to raise funds, and stock certificates.
