Records of the University Club of Evanston 1907-1940

The first vice-president of the club, John H. Wigmore, had the foresight to preserve many of the notices of Club meetings. They are enlightening and valuable sources for documenting the activities of the club. The announcements of meetings list topics to be discussed at the meetings and names of speakers. They are printed on postcard stock and mailed to members. John H. Wigmore, one of the founders of the University Club of Evanston kept notices of the weekly meetings from 1907 to 1940. The collection is incomplete, but the 300 cards provide an invaluable record the Club's activities. They are arranged chronologically by date and housed in one half-size archival box.
