The Emil J. Gumbel Collection preserves all of his scrapbooks, manuscripts, research reports, articles, andpamphlets from 1916 to 1952. The collection documents the right-wing persecution of Gumbel and other critics of German militarism in the 1920s andchronicles the social and political conditions that fostered nationalism and spawned Nazism.
