Henry Rothschild was born in 1870 in Heilbronn to parents Wilhelm and Stella Rothschild née Schott. His mother was a journalist and writer. After the death of his father he took over the family business, the Adler company, together with his two brothers Albert and Max. Rothschild was active in the Jewish community in Frankfurt both as a leader and philanthropist.
