Born in Leschnitz (now Lesnica, Poland) on October 16, 1882, the educator and sinologist Bruno Schindler emigrated to Great Britain in 1933 and died in London on July 29, 1964. He was the editor and head of the publishing firm Lund Humphries & Co. Ltd., as well as founder and editor of the journal Asia Major and the co-founder and publisher of the journal Islamica, Caucausica, and Armenica .
