The Jewish Central Information Office was founded by Alfred Wiener, a German Jew who worked for the Central Association of German Citizens of Jewish Faith ( Centralverein deutscher Staatsbürger jüdischen Glaubens ). In 1933 he fled to Amsterdam where he founded the agency along with David Cohen. The JCIO produced reports to spread word of the activities that were occurring in Nazi Germany.
