Parley Pratt Nelson was born 17 February 1875 to Peter Nielsen (Larsen) and Bollette Petronelle Svendsen in Monroe, Sevier, Utah. While a student at Brigham Young Academy, he participated in the Cluff Expedition to South America from April-August 1900.
