Born in Shady Grove, New York on January 27, 1896, Clark E. Warburton taught at several colleges and universities in the United States and India before joining the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in 1934. He eventually became Chief of the Banking and Business Section of the Division of Research and Statistics. He retained that post until his retirement in 1965.
