Herbert M. Morais Legal and Related Papers undated

Herbert M. Morais (1905-1970) was an historian and co-author of (1955). He taught at Brooklyn College but left in the 1940s after being investigated for his allegedly Communist political associations, and became a member of the Research Division of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers Union, CIO (UE). The collection contains a CD and printed reproductions of files on Morais and other ex-teachers and Brooklyn College and the City University of New York (CCNY) investigated and in most cases dismissed for their radicalism. The twenty-three files contain legal documents, correspondence, and clippings, most related to the investigation of Morais and other professors. Labor's Untold Story
