Charles S. Zimmerman (1896-1983) was a labor leader and political activist who worked in the New York garment industry and served as the secretary-manager of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union (ILGWU) Local 22 as well as an organizer for the Joint Board of the Dress and Waistmaker Union. Zimmerman was also a member of the Socialist Party and the Communist Party until 1931. This collection contains congress reports from the Communist-affiliated Red International of Labour Unions (RILU) as well as leaflets and clippings related to Communism and the labor movement.

Charles S. Zimmerman (1896-1983) was a labor leader and political activist. Zimmerman was born in Russia in 1896 and emigrated to the U.S. in 1913.
