Constance Ray Harvey graduated from Smith College in 1927. She began her diplomatic service in 1930 and held numerous diplomatic positions, serving as Vice Consul in Ottawa, Milan, Basel; Secretary of the Legation in Berne; Vice Consul at Lyon; and Consul in Zurich. She received the Medal of Freedom in 1947 for meritorious service with the French Underground, 1941-1942.
