The American College of Nurse-Midwifery (ACNM) was incorporated on 7 November 1955 as the professional organization for certified nurse-midwives in the United States. The first annual meeting of the American College of Nurse-Midwifery was held on 12-13 November 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri.
