Francis P. Blair, 1791-1876, was an influential Kentucky politician, and later, a Washington, D.C. newspaper editor. In 1814, Blair held the position of Franklin County Circuit Court Clerk, and in the 1820's was appointed Clerk of the New Court of Appeals. When the New Court collapsed, Blair became a writer for Amos Kendall's Argus of the Western America.
