Raymond Holden was born on April 7, 1894 in New York City. He graduated form Princeton University in 1915 and served in the National Guard from 1916-1917. From there, Holden became involved in publishing. During his career he worked for a variety of publications, including the New Yorker, Fortune, Newsweek, and Reader’s Digest .
