Mary Hill Nevin Hall manuscript undated

Minnie Hall Murphy, the mother of Antoinette Perry (1888-1946), actress and director for whom the Tony Awards were named, wrote this narrative on the westward journey of her mother, Mary Hill Nevin Hall, Perry's grandmother, who travelled from Michigan to Colorado in 1858 as part of the Pike's Peak or Bust expedition. This third person narrative covers the journey west and life in Colorado in the 1860s as Murphy imagines her mother experienced it. The focus is on personal family matters.
