Teiji Ito was a Tokyo-born composer who resided in New York City. His compositional style reflects Japanese, African, and American influences. Ito is known especially for his theater, dance and film music. A percussion performer, he was particularly interested in the use of percussion instruments in various cultures. Son of pianist Nadia Reisenberg, Robert Sherman (b. 1932) began his career in broadcasting as the Music Director and Program Manager for radio station WQXR in New York.
