Frederick A. De Zeng papers 1781-1849

Baron Frederick A. De Zeng (1756-1838), a Hessian officer who became a naturalized American citizen, was the first manufacturer of window glass in the United States. Collection consists of letters and documents, 1781-1831, to, from, and about De Zeng, and letters, 1843-1849, to De Zeng's son, William Steuben De Zeng. Subjects include the Onondaga Nation, Shakers, Ontario Glass Company, and personal and family matters.
