Francis Adams, poet, novelist, commentator and radical was born at Malta, son of an army surgeon and novelist Bertha Jane Grundy Adams. Arrived in Australia 1884. In 1887 worked as a journalist and leader-writer with the Brisbane Courier and with William Lane's radical weekly. The Boomerang Prolific contributor of poems, short fiction and critical articles to The Bulletin. Returned to England in 1890.
