Richard Copley Christie, English scholar and bibliophile. He was a professor of history, economics, and jurisprudence at Owens College from 1854-1869. To Sir Henry Cole, civil servant : 1 autograph letter signed + 1 letter copy : ca. May 1879 : (P'ANA 0025-0026) : regarding Peacock bibliography and publishing of miscellanea. (P'ANA 0025) with note: "Mrs. C. Clarke to act upon & return." Mrs. Clarke was Edith Nicholls, Peacock's granddaughter, and was in the possession of manuscripts which were to go to Christie for editing.
