Eugene (John) Heimler (1922 90) was born in Szombathely in Western Hungary. He attended the local grammar school and matriculated from the Jewish Gymnasium in Budapest. In 1944, after the German invasion of Hungary, the Heimler family were deported. Eugene Heimler was sent to Auschwitz, Buchenwald and other camps.
