Gustave Rudler (1872-1957) was a French scholar. His doctoral research, 'La jeunesse de Benjamin Constant, 1767-1794', was supervised by Gustave Lanson who remained a strong influence on his work long afterward, hence the quantity of his letters here. Rudler lectured at the Sorbonne for a short time, before being appointed Professor of French at Bedford College, University of London, in 1913.
